Parking Assitant/Self Park

I had this option on my 2012 650i and actually used it. I am looking for this on my 2015 M5 and it was not readily apparent. Thanks

M5 doesn't have this option since it uses hydraulic steering, not electric like the 650 had.

Does any one know if the new X5M/X6M uses hydraulic steering or electric? If they use electric, then the M5 and M6 are the last M cars to use hydraulics. That is unless the upcoming M2 also uses a hydraulic rack, which I seriously doubt. Either way, I'm not looking forward to moving to electric in the next generation M5.

Edit:

Never mind. Found the answer.

The new X5M and X6M both have electric assisted steering.

Lets just hope its as good as the reviewers say for the F80/82. The steering feel has gotten a lot of praise

2015 M5 has electronic steering. But, still no parking assist.

Oh wow.. I just notice they have changed the 2015 M5 power steering to electric power steering. As 2013 M5 owner, i couldn't be happier to have the hydraulic power steering. =)

Wait what? That has to be the typo. No way they are moving to electric before next gen - or so I think

You're probably right, it does seem wrong that they would change it mid-model. I haven't found any other info to confirm or deny either.

Good info! I always wondered about the reasoning behind not having that...
