Burning smell from engine area?

Totally stock. '13 w/ ~28k miles. Just recently I've started to smell something like plastic burning after I pull in the garage, even after a short trip. I'm not sure if this was here before, but looking with a flashlight it's all I could find. Seems like some kind of sealant dripping down.

Any ideas?

Update/Edit: Seems to be coolant leak. I also found this thread: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=856863

Looks like dried/baked coolant to me. Take the plastic cover off and check the turbo coolant lines again.

ok thanks, will do. Actually it's under warranty also so I just emailed my SA, too.

Just after I took that pic I went to drive it again and got low coolant warning. The service records show the retrofit was done, but maybe needs to be redone?

Yeah sometimes the lines start to leak even though the "shields" were added.

If those coolant heat raps dont work, then I believe they'll have to replace the lines/seals.

Thanks, sounds like that is it. My SA called a few minutes after I emailed him the pic and setup an appt tomorrow morning to replace the lines and seals. Hopefully will have it back by afternoon

To update... just got the car back and it's in good shape. Was totally covered under CPO warranty. Parts were turbo coolant lines: feed pipe, return pipe, hose clamps, and replacement coolant. Also they re-did the 4 heat protection mats with new ones.

Faint smell, looks like they tried to clean off the burnt coolant but didn't quite get it all. Hopefully it burns off completely soon.

Think I need to do this. Would like to DIY can you please be kind enough to post the service paperwork that outlines the exact part numbers/parts for this repair?

I would greatly appreciate and benefit and I am sure others will too
