Help on a DCT issue...

I noticed lately that when i press in the gas from a complete stop the gear kicks in abruptly instead of a smooth take-off.
So basically from a stop, (doesn’t matter if car is warm/cold/hot), when i press on the gas, the car kicks in right away, it’s like having a manual tranny and i let go of the clutch abruptly and the car kicks forward.
it’s not that bad but you definitely feel it, i can never leave from a stop smoothly, it’s always an abrupt take off. The more i press on the gas, the more abrupt the car moves forward. Like a "bang" it kicks in as if the gear was stuck and then it releases.
Once the car gets going the tranny is perfect, it’s only on takeoff.

I took it to BMW, they know that i have a tune, they did a “slip point calibration” and also regenerated the computer “to reset the way i drive” but it still does it.
They are saying that it’s possible that it’s the tune that is doing it on purpose?
The next step is for BMW to re-flash the ECU back to stock and re-test.

any of you have had this issue?
any input is appreciated.

thanks!

Mine doesn't happen all the time as yours does but I have had it happen before. Sounds to me like the clutch is slipping or not engaging. Not sure how the tune can affect it as I am not experienced in that. Hopefully someone can chime in.

That's great the dealer is willing to work with you on that knowing its tuned. Definitely have them revert to stock and test. I know it's a hassle but helps eliminate the tune and any blame on it.

But what is the whp/wtq you are running? Is it anywhere near the limits of the tranny?

Mine has done that, too. It's not a smooth take off, especially in sport mode. I think it's too grabby, but the dealer says it's normal and can't reproduce.

I'm not on a tune and only have muffler delete.
