Quick Hello from a new member
Hi Guys,
Just a quick hello before I start asking loads of daft newbie questions! I've had the car for a couple of weeks now, 13 plate Singapore Grey with Sakhir interior. This is my first REAL performance car and its completely intoxicating, my last car was a Merc E350 Sport Cabriolet, a nice car but not anywhere near this league of performance and quality. Absolutely love the car and overall very pleased with the purchase, the MPG was a vague concern (as i have to do a bit of business mileage) but the car has absolutely amazed me with its lack of thirst, I managed 30.1MPG on a 120 mile motorway run the other day which is well beyond my expectations (I appreciate that this will be falling by the second when the weather eventually improves in the coming months in the UK, when I'll get a better chance to use some of this monstrous performance!) Thanks for the wealth of knowledge on this site, its been a great resource for me on the run up to making the purchase, I've stuck a real rough pic below, hopefully take some better pics when the weather improves! |

Congrats on the car! And congrats on the fuel mileage!!! I just drove to Las Vegas this past weekend (about 280 miles) and averaged 19mpg. I was just glad that we were able to make it there on less than a full tank of gas.

Congrats, lovely combo!
But come on, 30 MPG? That's incredible. The best I could manage was about 25 MPG (ideal circumstances/cruise control/softest settings). My average MPG is more like 18-19.

No privacy glass, toying with the idea of having it done, full spec is: All the usual kit + M Multifunction Seats, Rear Seat Heating, Speed Limit Display, Split fold seats with Ski Bag (crazy this isn't standard), Premium stereo upgrade, Rear and Side blinds, 20's, Rear Parking Camera - think thats it! |

LOL; my last BMW had sun protection glass & side blinds. Will not being spec'ing that combo again!
Edit; sorry, didn't mean don't get your side windows tinted, just that I can understand why you wouldn't spec both from new - I never once used the rear blinds in my old car in 3.5 years. |

I'm loving the interior so much at the mo that the tints aren't high on the agenda. |

Similar journeys at regular speeds have been more like 25 mpg which is still awesome for a car like this, my wife's Mk2 3.2 Quattro TT shows pretty much the same and it's about 600kg lighter! |

UK gallon is 20% larger than a US gallon so your 23 = 28 mpg in the UK.
