Help!! M5 Competition or M6 GC non-Competition?
I'm being offered a 2014 M5 competition edition in Singapore Grey Metallic and Sakhir orange interior or a 2014 Alpine White with Amaro Brown interior non-Competition edition. The M6 gran coupe is a better looking and more unique car of the 2 I believe but the M5 brings 2 desirable options being the B&O sound and Competition. Any advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Is there a price difference/discount difference?

Get the M5. If it was even I would say get the M6. The M6 should be discounted heavily. The 2015 M6 begins production in April so it is at end of model year already - prices will plummet by mid to late May as 2015s hit US dealerships.

No brain er M5 CP
I.mever cared for M6GC as it is a niche car and a little Polarizing model, The world will be ok without it but won't be without M5 - Don't shoot me if you like M6GC I was asked about my Humble Opinion -; ) My 2 cents |

Do you ever plan on having more than one passenger in your car?
If so, sit in the backseat of each car and it may help you inform your decision. As awesome as I think the M6 gran coupe looks it's backseat is almost useless for any adults

In terms of passengers it's highly unlikely I will have more than 1 and price does not matter just wanted a non bias opinion as to which would be best to purchase on a lease

Even though I have the 5 I really like the m6GC. Two guys here in Houston have em who went on a county run w me and theirs is really nice. That's my vote but if they dropped the price.

If you don't need to ferry 3 passengers in the rear, get the GC. I was planning to trade in my M5 for it, but was put off by the rear space. It's a gorgeous car no doubt! The GC without comp pack suspension is going to feel less planted compared to the M5. I drove it on Sepang back to back with the M5 and the M5 wins hands down! Both were without comp pack then.

My opinion:
If you regularly engage in spirited driving and will push the car hard, the M5 with the comp package is the better way to go. If you will drive from A to B and want to get a few extra looks doing it, then go with the M6 GC.

the GC is a pretty nice place to be. interior is superior to M5, but not for driver thrills... cant you get the GC with Comp pack? I have to say, I do like that chocolate mousse interior...

Based on Niko414's experience with his GC with Comp Package, is say, you almost need the Comp Package on the Gran Coupe.
It's a tough decision for sure. However, keep in my you can mod the Gran Coupe with lower springs than the CP Springs and even add the CP sway bars later, or if you really want to be cool, you can get the Dinan Sway Bars which can be up to 79% stiffer than stock. Good luck! I'd hate to be in your position.

If price is not an issue and you don't need rear seat room, why not find an M6 GC with competition package and all the options you want? Why limit yourself to what one dealer is offering?

M6 is very interesting car but there are literally 14 on the lot at my dealer, yah 14. The car seems to appeal to physician types who want to drop big money but may not necessarily be into serious performance; these are more MB S-Class type folks I've noticed....M5 can go both ways, but the M5 is a must in the lineup, not so much M6 i know, terrible example, but hey thats how i feel |

M5. I have not driven the M6 GC (just sat in one), but I found it a little hard to see out of. I like the combo of terrific performance and the good visibilty/greater practicality that the M5 gives. It makes it a better daily driver IMO. I have cycled between the M5 and M3 sedans (with each generation) so admittedly I am biased.
