Women driving cars. The next thing you're going to tell me is your gf wants to vote...
JUST KIDDING. And RPIM5 hit in on the head...the answer lies in the Hot-Crazy scale. |

I am happy to let my wife drive it. She is not only a great driver, but also my designated driver since she doesn't drink. Hell, I let my 16 year old son drive it - with me in it of course - on the third day after I got it. And he just has his learner's permit. Can't expect him to learn how to drive and respect various cars without actually driving them in a supervised environment. That said, he knows he will never drive it without me in the car. He is a good and responsible kid, but he IS a teenager.

I always drive, everywhere and all the time. Don't trust other people.
In desperate situations I will let someone else drive.. wether it's a friend or girlfriend. Desperate situations being I can't stay awake or something like that. Shit happens.. sometimes it doesn't matter who is driving. This happened to me in my E60 M5 on I-95. A sheet of wood flew off a truck driving 1 car ahead of me, and my M5 ate it. No possible way to avoid it.

Of course my wife drove my M5 several times but she had X5 50i 2012 for a few years and 550i for a few months too so all I did is teach her a little about DCT, But I let so many of my partners at work drive it, And BTW one of them has many cars like TT RS and GTR 2009 highly modded and when he drove mine, he shocked me by pushing it so hard into triple digits which I never did!! Bad he had E60 M5 2008 for a few years and E92 M3 fkr a whike too! and R8 V8 !! And he told me "Damn BMW engineers know how to make a nice sports cars" Which to me was the best complement I got so far, but added that it need AWD too.. At least 10 people drove my M5 so far and I have only 4k miles - I belive being a lease helps hahahahahah |

E60 M5 was an epic car. I owned three, 06, 08, and 10. Moved on since then.. that was a while ago.
Just needed a new radiator, oil cooler, and front bumper paint. Wasn't too bad.

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to let her give it a go this afternoon. I have known her for six years... so I know where to find her if anything goes wrong

I let my wife drive mine when her X6 is being serviced. I won't lie, it makes me nervous as hell every time; not because she can't drive and handle the car (she's tracked her own car and drives well), but because she DESTROYS rims on curbs regularly.
The same "spacial awareness" deficiency will inevitably destroy the front lower spoiler when parked too close to front curb of most parking places. In spite of my best attempts to leave distance between my car and these front curbs, occasionally even I cut it too close. These two areas are (seemingly) impossible to teach a woman driver, so I avoid turning over the beast to my wife with a fear on par with a digital rectal exam. |
