Interesting. On Tirerack only the PSS and Pzeros pull up for the M5 in 20s. Yet looking up the Contis and then looking at the sizes available they are listed. Not sure why but thanks for replying.

Im on Pirellis at the moment but I might try them in 8000 miles or so..depending on whether the PSS are available at that time.

Enjoying the 305s

8000 miles? haha... Noway they last 8k with that much torque you have and daily launches

I just checked my tires yesterday after tire rotation (on each axle).
Both fronts: 7/32" outside, 6/32" inside
Both rears: 4/32" outside, 3/32" inside
Looks like all wheels have negative cambers....
Can you confirm negative cambers ? yours is the same?
Anyways, almost time for new rear tires... They last 5k miles

Launches (especially with the torque we have) will naturally provide negative camber to the rear tires. The "squatting" during the launch will lower the rear which essentially causes negative camber.

Thanks.
I actually calculated the camber based on 305 mm tire and 1/32" (~0.8mm) wear difference (inside and outside) is about 0.15 degree. What you explained makes sense.

Most BMWs have 1 to 2 degrees of negative camber dialed into the rear. (I don't know the exact specs for the M6/M5, but I'm sure someone will look them up). While acceleration squat may contribute a small amount to the wear pattern you see, it's the static alignment that is most responsible.

The rear suspension's anti squat geometry and camber control links keep the tires pretty much at the set point under acceleration, braking and cornering. That's one of the reasons this car handles like it does.

I vouch for the S01 Pole Position tires. I replaced the PZeros on my E92 M3 with the S01 and felt that the S01 was a better tire at a lower cost. Now that my F82 is inbound, I will be able to see if the PSS is as great as everyone makes them out to be.

I have two brand new Mpss rear and one front in the garage. I'll have my other front Tuesday. I don't know of anyone else who found any. I was informed that mich is working g w ford on their gt40 and that's where their loyalties are now. Can't confirm but along with that they won't be making that tire for our car anymore
