The pictures DME posted on IG were from my friends car. He is not on the forums. Here is all the evidence that you will need. The Downpipes were purchased by DME for my friends car from RKs associate. AutoCouture was going to install them. RK ended up going to AutoCouture because he said they have to scan the car again since they didn't fit when they tried installing them. I was the one that recommended the RK Downpipes to my friend. I ended up looking like an idiot because of the outcome of my recommendation. The part that bothers me is that they claimed they fit perfect from day 1 without even testing them. How do you send out a set of Downpipes without testing the fitment??? You test them on a customers car?? On top of that they bashed everyone who makes Downpipes right out of the gate. DME and AutoCouture built my car so I talk to them from time to time.

Regarding the back and fourth on IG. From what I was told, RK bashed DME on an IG post which provoked DME to put RK on blast. RK even had the balls to say that DME didn't buy the Downpipes from him which was a lie. Before this incident on IG, DME never spoke bad about RK nor tried to stop people from buying his products. When asked by customers if RK products are good, DME says they are nice intakes for the price. That is all.

Here are the texts back and fourth with RKs associate.

Once they 3D scanned the car again at AutoCouture, I'm sure RK made the necessary changes so that they fit properly. This could have been completely avoided if RK just did their homework. Instead they chose to lie and claim that those are not their Downpipes. RKs integrity is questionable to say the least.

Well this is an intake thread and I don't have an opinion since all I have is charcoal delete. Lol
On the other hand I thought the RK CF intakes and mandrel bent DP's were works of art!!

This is getting interesting! I'm

I assume this happened at least a couple of months ago? Because like I stated, I've had my RK DPs since end of September and it looks exactly like RK current product photos.

I'm sorry to hear you and your friend had to go through that frustration; I've been through similar on different platforms in the past and it sucks. Perhaps you guys were RK's test mule?? I will say, however, that after communicating with Raza a few times in the past, I do believe he will stand behind his product and correct any wrongs with them.

Anyways, sorry to OP for derailing your thread. I'd still recommend the RK intakes because I like them and there are a couple threads of dyno runs and 1/4 mile runs with them. And of course MSR has the vbox/ 1/4 mile data too.

Someone should start a downpipe comparison thread to see if we can get the intake wars going again. haha

That was quality reading while at work.

All I can say is stock box with K&N ran 175.3 in the 1/2 mile... and 142.5mph in the 1/4. There is no battle, the war has been decided (at 27psi).

Which is one of the the main reasons I have not swapped out my stock boxes for the aftermarket intake I have sitting in a box in my garage (left over from the M5).

BTW, do you have a P/N for the K&N filters you're running, por favor?

This all day. I'll keep my stock intake save the high cost on buying aftermarket and continue the beat downs.

At some point if someone can have a rational, technical discussion on intakes I am all ears. If there is a way to make power with intakes I am behind it 100%.

All intakes need to be compared to stock box (w/funnel), charcoal-delete and a K&N. Thats the baseline. Any delta ROI needs to take the $90 it costs for that baseline and then calculate how much HP gain / dollar.

This is performance only - I can't speak to sound or aesthetics as I am personally not interested. Others are and they can place their own value on that benefit.
