I was looking at auctions for this week and came across a 2015 M5 30 Jahre with 40 miles. The auction value is only $74k. I'd buy it if I didn't pick up a new M6 on Saturday.

This car I think was at Cosmo Motors in NC. Showed 40 miles on it for months. They would only go to 120 but I wanted it down another 15 to 20. Just didn't value it at 120. I guess they got their number, if it's the same car.....

I believe the MSRP was $139,000. Manheim auctions are only available to someone with a dealer license. I don't have the license, but have a friend who lets me use his account to look up prices. It's helped a lot in the past when making a purchase. It's especially helpful when you're able to cross-reference previous auction prices in the last month or two to the asking prices once these cars hit the dealer lots. Knowing what the dealer paid for that exact car at auction is powerful information to have during negotiation.

Yes, it's the same car. It seems several of us were thinking it was going to go cheaper, but then again, this car only has 40 miles. I'm sure most of us would have paid $121k for this car when it first hit the showrooms. $18,000 off MSRP is a good deal. I see 2015 and right away classify it as used, with a lower value. I have to remind myself that this car is brand new.
