Better traction
Ability to have more presets on the stereo Front camera faster throttle response/downshift when kick-down has been hit (in comfort mode) Improved interface for music aps and bluetooth connectivity electric side screens stronger vented seats thinner front seats (better leg room for rear) opposite curved passenger dash/glove box (easier entry ans more space for front passenger) Sunglass holder Rattle Free cupholder neutral from paddle shifters entry-assist (seat moves back, steering wheel moves up) - I'mnot that fat but have snagged the leather a few times now... rear brake caliper housing design (cosmetic but looks cheep) remove the unusable phone cradle and open space for storage Lockable glove box (I carry a gun - need to be able to lock it up if I keep it in the car) tighter turning radius (I cam from sports cars - this is a super long car) |

My biggest grip is BMW has moved the Volume control from the left to the right side of the steering wheel.
I've got a 6 speed and moving controls away from the left hand renders the volume control useless to me.

I remember the previous-gen M5 (with NA V10 engine) had up to 6 driving modes.
I guess BMW reduced it since too many drivers suffered from painful necks when using the S6 drive mode xD |

Gotta be the sound. I had an F10 M5 as a loaner when my E60 M5 got vandalised and I just missed the sound of the screaming V10. It'll be cool to see what's on the G30 M5 though

Agree! Nothing makes me more cross when you have had a car for a while and then they bring out a "competition package" version..that's bull..

I would like the colored temp gauge/rev limit on the tach that moves up as the engine warms up like I had on my E92 M3.
Also make the damn DCT start in first gear ALL the time in auto instead of second sometimes. |

I agree for the car has been developed in 2009-2011 and started production in 2011 she has the most up to date technologies at 100k price point. On the other hand, adding more feature/technology would increase the price and weight while the heavy weight of M5 is already on question. In addition the current body is not designed for a V12 725 HP with a lot more weight (turning the car to even heavier and more front bias car) and power. BUT I wish M5 was: 1. 4-5 inches shorter (length) 2. 300-400 lb lighter 3. Slightly rear weight bias configuration such as 46/54 (like front mounted engine Ferrari F12) instead of 52/48 with more dynamic differential to improve the traction. 4. CF roof like other M cars.

I would've loved to have the CF roof, as well. Guess it might just show up in the upcoming G incarnation. Wonder what're the weight savings between the current M6 CF roof vs the M5's?

CF roof weight saving (by itself) is about 40lb; however it's not just about weight saving... CF roof lowers the center of gravity and improves the handling too.

DCT
I would like a DCT that in default mode and top gear doesn't make the car feel like a 1998 520i with bad rings. Whoever programmed the DCT's auto downshift behaviour doesn't understand how BMWs are supposed to feel, let alone M cars.
I know I can drive in sequential or dial in a different response (and drive around in a gear higher than necessary). I just hate that numb throttle once the car gets into top gear when in comfort. To know what I'm taking about, take an M135i in comfort, give it just a whiff of gas and you're off down the road in a series of smooth rapid fire shifts. The M5 just sits there doing 1200rpm until you give it a bootful of throttle. There's no reason it should be inferior to a ZF 8speed, but it is.....significantly |

CF roof would be awesome but the low key nice part about not having that option now is to be able to enjoy the sunroof (which I love) and not feel bad everytime I see another M5 with a CF roof lol.
