Any E90 M3 owners considering moving up to F10 M5?

Has any current E90 M3 owners thought about moving up to the M5 when it debuts just by looking at what the non M5 has to offer? I’m wondering if it will be able to handle as well as the M3 through the corners.

I'm going to get it. I skipped the M3 in order to wait for the new M5.

If the torque numbers are as large as the X5M, I would imagine the M5 will sell like hotcakes.

To big for my taste. Plus I'm not a fan of forced induction, this generation M-5 will fall short of that beautiful sounding S85 V10. The new one might be faster more Hp and Torque but it's still FI engine thumbs down for Turbo motors.

Anyone that OWNS the current M3 knows how good it is. Any bigger and you start to lose that awesome feel. The M3 never gets itself out of shape. I've spent plenty of seat time in both the current M5 and M6 and you can "feel" the suspention working to keep things in order in both those cars. The M3 is just sharp as can be, always. Further, the M3 engine is absolutely sublime, with characteristics very much like a Ferrari.

As for the X5M, I'm very disappointed BMW went that route, whoring out the M badge for $$$.

And this folks is the best sumantion of where //M is going. Love your S85 and S65 engines boys, because in the future all we will be offered by //M is over-boosted, unbalanced pigs.

Cheers,

I thought about it, and might pull the trigger some day. My boys are approaching 6 feet and the 3 is simply too tight for them to be comfortable in back. In the meantime, I'm on the prowl for a nice 07-09 6mt M5. I may be going to Manheim with the local dealer soon...

thats why id only move to M5 if numbers justify it like under 4 seconds 210 top end with a limiter at 190 and several seconds like 10 under 8 at the nurburgring nordshcleffe

I could not agree more with many of the posts above.
I currently own an '07 e60 M5 6mt and I am at the point now where I do not need the 4 doors. I have an e92 M3 on order (I have always liked smaller, lighter cars).
I hate the fact that ///M is now going to FI. I have owned both FI and NA cars and there is nothing like a high revving NA engine.
The S54, S65 and S85 engines will be the last of their kind for a long time.
Enjoy it while you can!
