New Audi RS5 vs Comp Pack M4 vs Merc C63S AMG drag/roll races. Surprising results!

I know this is not the M4 forum, but I don't like going over there. Lol!

That new RS5 though, what a 1/4 mile time for stock! Outstanding! But then that C63S in the roll race, just wow!

Saw this earlier, the C63S is a lot of fun and Im enjoying my tuned version all too much. I figured as much would happen with the RS5 from a dig and roll.

Their rolling race was done in auto mode for the gearboxes, not preselecting second or third. While that is an interesting test, I feel that it is worth a re-shoot with all cars having a low gear selected. This is mentioned at 2:30.

I think this really ended up being a test of which gearbox kicks down the quickest, which obviously the Merc did here.

I think both the Audi and Benz will still be quicker than the M.

Vic, how much is your tune making on your C63S? That has got to be a blast to drive around.

I think I gained around 100hp and 125tq at the crank.... it really is a fun car and gives me that RWD fun that some of us still want. Of course its a bit of a tire burner if one doesnt modulate the throttle from a dig on cold tires. From a roll the car really picks up steam nicely and rolls easily past 130 mph. Oh and all this on single scroll tiny turbos.

The biggest issue with M4 is the ridiculous wheel spinning at first gear while the RPM reaches the redline but car can't pick up enough speed for almost a second... This is why I miss M6 every single day I floor the gas on M4 ....

The m6 had traction? I've read traction is just as challenging in the m5/m6....no?

M6 did'nt have perfect traction either but you could feel much more power and still better launch eventhough M6 had shorter gear ratio at first gear compare to M4 (DCT vs MT)..,

How would you say the comfort/firmness of the suspension compares to your M4?

You had a comp pack M4 right?

Thanks!

Yes I had a ZCP M4. In OEM setup the C63S (in the stiffest setting) vs the M4 (in its stiffest setting) is more taut and firm. Its almost too much unless one's roads are practically perfect. Feel is subjective though and also how one drives their car. I really like the firmness but did swap the factory C63S springs out for the KW HAS and that helped out a bit creating a bit more comfort during slower speed driving over undulations and less than optimal roads. Even the least firm setting in the C63S is rather firm but endurable. They really dialed up their dampers no doubt.
