Post BMW M5 and M6 Tuned by Hartge to 642 HP

BIMMERPOST NEWS
BMW M5 Tuned by Hartge to 642 HP
42
COMMENTS

Germany based Hartge has released the figures on its ECU software tune for the M5 and M6 good for 642hp and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft), representing an increase of +82 hp and +130 Nm (96 lb-ft) over the factory figures.

Hartge quotes a new 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 190mph (305kmh).

This is achieved with the ECU tune as well as a stainless steel exhaust system.

The Hartge F10 M5 below also showcases Hartge lowering springs which lowers the M5 by 25mm front / 20mm rear, as well as the Hartge front lip (still unpainted in some photos) and carbon fiber mirror covers.

I have allways loved the Hartge wheel design that this car has. Maybe the pictures doesn't do the car justice (see comment above), but in these video clips the car looks awesome IMHO:

And, front lip in CF blends better in as well. Guess the white version was to make the design visible.

Are these WHP?
How did they come up with these numbers?

Also, factory numbers are underrated, so is it really 82hp increase?

I believe that the 'Hartge Classic' is far and away the best looking wheel design in history.

Not the best wheel, just the best looking.

Totally. I dyno'd stock 641whp. So, who's to say there's any gain at all. Put it side by side in a race.

640hp and 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds?? Is that a typo? I think a tuned 335i pulls off around the same 0 to 60...

Rob, are you sure 641whp? I think that may be extrapolated crank...544whp assuming 15% drivetrain loss is 641 crank. I dynoed yesterday 535whp, 487 ft-lbs, stock.
