Question, 530i F10 + 911 Turbo S or M5 F10 as Daily Driver?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Just a question, which would you prefer, a 530i F10 + 911 Turbo S or an M5 F10 as your daily driver? P.S. The Porsche would be my weekend fun car. Last edited by JumppyJA; 10-05-2012 at 07:29 PM.. |

I go between the M5 and My veggie oil Jetta to make up for the carbon foot print.. If you don't have kids a porsche is do able... The 530 would not be in my list...

Haha, I'm only considering the 530i as I love the straight-six sound and this is the last naturally aspirated straight-six in the 5 series. Also, I couldn't imagine trying to sell an M5 with daily driver miles where I live, it would probably be hard to sell a low-miles M5 too.. P.S. The Porsche would be my weekend car for some fun runs.

If you can fit two cars, then the two car solution is always better. The modern Porsches with PASM and PDK can be workable daily drivers, but having the 530i available makes it a no brainer, IMHO. I have a 997TT and an E60M5 and would have driven the E60 as a DD more even if it were not an M-car.

Being able to drive a M5 daily is a wonderful thing; however, being able to drive a 911 turbo S during the weekend is just a big PLUS. I personally would go with 530i + turbo s. I love the f10 m5 a lot but giving the chance to own two different cars at the same time I will still do it.

Two cars for sure. M5 isn't "best of both worlds", it's "taste of both worlds but a compromise on both sides". If you can get a car optimized for DD and a car optimized for fun, THAT'S best of both worlds.
