Hope he hasn't sold the business. I think he would regret that in the long term.

The company was technically sold to Driven Performance Brands (Flowmaster, B&M Racing, Hurst) back in 2013. Steve had remained as CEO until now. The new opportunity proved too much to resist for him which we can understand knowing Steve and his racing desires. His valuable input and guidance in the engineering realm will still be utilized as he will remain with Dinan as a consultant to engineering and product development.

All of that said we have very large plans going forward this year and you will be seeing lots of positive news from Dinan in the coming months. Get ready...

Dinan

Hoolly Crap
Being a business owner I do understand " his " ideology ( I think ), but like someone else said he might regret it afterwords.
He must have been offered a quite a sum of money to jump into a dream of his.
From my experience it is not easy to let go of your own business, been there myself. I did not let my baby though, it was tempting ... but no for me.

Guess the millions in R&D in trying to tune the new ECU's really hit him hard. Alpina gets to tune cars with a full Bmw backed warranty and charge a stupid amount of money for wheels and a couple more ponies and Dinan gets screwed? Lame! :

I read BMW wanted to buy Dinan in the past and he declined - I think this was in one of his interviews. I guess he changed his mind too late and took the wrong deal. I think it would have been awesome for all of us if BMW owned Dinan.

Yeah, he's moving on. Owners that sell like this usually have earnouts and things that keep them around for a few years but almost always the owner leaves as it is never the same for them. Seen it a lot but really can't blame them. If the company culture is strong with a solid new leader than all good!
