From Eisenmann Race to Akra Evolution: Impressions

I couldn't tolerate the OEM Camry exhaust. After removing the E-race system I decided to try something different. I currently have the Akra Evolution installed. So far very happy with it. The biggest problem with this system is storing the 12 foot long OEM exhaust!!!

As far as sound and drivability I echo other members' comments. The sound is higher pitched than the E-race and certainly not as loud or aggressive. The E-race growls from start up to WOT. The Akra is smooth under normal conditions and really screams at WOT. More F1 sounding.

Is one better than the other? No. Just different. I think if you daily drive your car and have a family.... One might be better tolerated.

It was a bit aggressive for my daily driver. I frequently park at the hospital over night. The morning cold start in the parking garage was Ridiculous. I'm talking many car alarms set off etc.

But for spirited driving or track it was awesome! If not daily driver I would have kept it. I miss the warm start up grunt. Turns heads every time.

Completely agree with your comments!

I just had Akra full system installed. Cold start is louder than stock. Idle got some slightly deep rumbling sound than stock. It sings at above 3k rpm and sounds awesome over 4k rpm. The other nice thing about Akra is no drone!

Does anyone know if the E-Race, in terms of decibels, sounds approximately like the EV-controlled Meisterschaft system when the Meisterschaft is OPEN or like when it is CLOSED? Just curious.

I have just had my E Race system removed, new owner picked it up today.

I loved the E Race when pleasure driving, but as has been mentioned its a bit aggressive for a daily drive. I do lots of early starts and live in a small gated community and on cold starts its really aggressive, also when cruising on motorways you are often in the 'drone zone'.

I was going to fit an E Sport or Akra, but since removing it and wiring the valve open, I am not sure if I will bother.....

The car also seems to be a lot smoother driving around town?

Happy with my Akra as well. You have to stand outside the car while someone else goes through the gears.

It sounds like something else.. nothing like what you hear in the drivers seat.

With the insulation in the new M5, we buy exhausts for the pleasure of others.
