2016 M5?

Talked to CA about ordering 2016 M5 (when 2016 ordering slots become available). Before pulling the trigger, wanted to check -- will 2017 M5 be the next-gen (with AWD)? Or will next-gen not come until 2018 model (or later)?

The next gen M5 will come out in 2018.

If you lease your car this summer, at the end of your lease the next generation of M5 will be arriving in US

Got it. Lease idea makes sense ... Although ... Do you really want first year of new model (let me work out kinks)/ pre-LCI?

My 2013 M5 was flawless. My 2014 had a couple annoying rattles i couldn't get rid of. Go figure. Although 2013 wasn't really the first model year of the F10 M5, since a 2012 model was sold outside the US.

Fully agree. I got the 13 and was a bit irritated when they lauched the LCI version..would rather get the second year like I did on my 14. No issues. Great car.

Exactly. What makes anyone think that even if there is a 2018 M5 in 2017, that it will be available in the U.S. when the 1998 E39 M5, 2005 E60 M5, and 2012 F10 M5 were not sold in America. Also leading U.S. to believe than an LCI version of the Gxx M5 won't be available until at least the 2020 M5 released in 2019. All of this presupposes that BMW completely breaks tradition by not offering 6 model years of the F10 M5 like they have with the E39 and E60, which is looking more likely given the longer production run of the 2016 M5. If you wait until the last F10 M5 is produced around October of 2016 and lease it for 3 years, your lease will end in October 2019, in which case the next generation M5 will be hitting American dealership floors as a 2020 model year M5 and possibly LCI. Make sense?
