Horsepower counts too!!

Just saw this great video over on the 2-Series forum.

I think I get the M235i now. It's cheap, fun, and pretty darn fast!

Take a look at the M235i lap times. Fast for what it is for sure. BUT then look at the lap times for the Audi RS7, Porsche Panamera Turbo, and CLS 62 AMG-S. They all murdered much much lighter cars like the Porsche Cayman S and CLA 45 AMG. Granted they are all AWD, but still they are like elephants compared to those tiny sports cars, yet they are so much faster. Horsepower counts too not just weight I say! Although a heavy car driver will have to work a lot harder and burn through brake rotors and pads a lot faster. LOL!

I wonder where a Comp Pack F10 M5 or F13 M6 would place on this list? Or how about a highly modified M5 making over 700hp?

Yeah, uhhhh, I'm not exactly giving a lot of credibility to those laps times. Especially since they are using a pretty wide spectrum of drivers (and specifically driving ability).

I see that Randy Pobst is driving a lot of them, but who is driving the others? My guess is that is the reason why we see this difference:

37. Chrysler 300 SRT-8 Mk II 1:27.74 '11 477 / 1994 Randy Probst

44. BMW M3 Competition Package 1:29.02 '10 420 / 1617 EdMunds InsideLine
