Passport Max Hardwire

In my 14M5 I hardwired to the sunroof panel and was planning on doing the same to this one when I got the chance. While I was waiting for that chance I was using the smart cord plugged into the power outlet and realized I was going to miss the ease of hitting the mute button since with the Max above mirror the mute button is not easily accessible. I ended up ordering the smart hardwire cord to keep the control close and routed the detector cable up the a pillar and across. I was going to use a fuse tap in the glove box but removed the center console and tapped the power outlet instead. Turned out very clean and convenient. When I have more time I may modify the housing to sit more flush or possible do some more modification and locate it in the key holder on the cup holder or in the ashtray.

I have the hardwire kit as well, but am running the acc outlet currently. You tapped the acc power direct? cool. When I first discovered the key holder my first thought was remote for the escort.

Yep there are 2 wires going to the power outlet/cig lighter one is hot and the other is ground. Worked out great didn't have to run the power cord all the way back over to the fuses in the glove box.

I was hoping it would fit in the key holder easier but it will definitely take some work so I decided to save that project for later

I'm hardwired as well with a Max 360. I originally had it mounted with the Escort suction cup in a position similar to yours. Recently purchased a Blendmount and love it; super clean look and easy to access the radar.

I thought about the blend mount it's definitely a better location and looks good but too obvious for would be thieves IMHO. With it above the mirror once the windows are tinted you can't really see it from outside the car even from the front.

Trust me I feel you; I live in Miami. Removing the radar from the mount's super easy.

Yeah I know I just get tired of hiding it all the time...lazy lol. Not to mention with the max the mount wears out pretty easy causing it to slip off. I think they corrected it with the max 2
