M6 Gran Coupe And M5 Wheels

Are they the same offset and interchangeable?

I have matte black wheels on the vehicle I'm purchasing, however my friend wants to trade me his polished wheels on his m6 gc.

Both are the factory wheel with the same spoke design.

Will they fit on mine and vice versa?

Please advise.

They won't. Different offsets and I believe the m6 rears are wider.

A few people have put M6 wheels on M5's, with their lower offset it is like putting a 15mm spacer on the rear. The front offset is only 1mm off so not noticeable.

You can put M5 rear wheels onto an M6 without any problems at all however the body will stick out quite a bit further than the wheels and they will look quite sunken, so you'd need 15mm spacers to compensate!

Finally, the M6 wheels are 0.5" wider at the front and the rear - doesn't matter too much if you're running stock tyre sizes but the M6 does lend itself to 275/35/20 and 305/30/20 tyres whereas those are wider than the M5 wheels are supposed to have on them.

If you are both really keen just put them on and see what they look like! If you wanted to be awesome, can you put the M5 rear wheels onto the front of the M6 and see if they clear brake calipers and the rest of the car? Just an idea I've had....

While the offset is 15mm in difference the additional width makes it more like having a 20mm spacer in the back.
