DIY Guide JB4
Hoping you guys can help me out, I have been searching the forums but can not find a DIY guide for the JB4.
I did however find a guide from allmotor on how to install the BCM here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...1&postcount=56 Do you guys know of any other guides? I am dropping my car off at the shop to get it installed tomorrow, they said they have done these before. But I want to include a guide of some sorts just to be sure.... On a side note after I pick up my car and use the bluetooth app to select map 2. Do I need to drive for a period of time before my ECU adjusts ? |

Note my car is right hand drive, as you are in the States you will need to run the OBD2 connector over to the divers side under the scuttle/wipermotor covers then through the fire wall just to the side of the brake booster shown here:
Everything else is the same- note you can't fit the JB4 to the driveside as the cables aren't long enough to run to the passengerside intercooler where the boost controllers are mounted. |

No need to take extreme measures here - such as having to do 4 runs starting at 2krpm and going to redline in 5th - the car will adapt fine after a couple of WOT pulls. Running the same setup.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I found out last week that I ordered the JB4 upgrade kit instead of the full kit by mistake. So there has been a delay in getting the correct parts & installation complete. I decided to do the BMS intake & charge pipes along with the JB4 install. Hope to give you guys some feedback soon. For the first time ever owning a sports car I have not been in a huge rush to increase the power levels. For me the BMW M5 as a daily driver has ample power stock.... but i suppose it's the silly compulsion in me which needs to boost up the power for the odd day I open her up. I just hope the JB4 Map 2 doesn't compromise the reliability of the vehicle.... More to come soon.... |

JB4 is great- you won't go back to stock once dialed in... then go water meth (50/50) injection, get smoother running, more power and it cleans te inlets and valves so saves you a massive amount of money having your engine dropped and walnut blasted!!

I'll try and get a picture up (for 13M5F10) of the actual routing of the JB4 wires to the interior.
I finally got JB4 + BCM up and running. I'm currently having the car adapt |
