Seems everyone in here is afraid to do it which doesn't bode well for the community or allowing the aftermarket to develop alternatives.

Well we are at 850 wtq now and so far been OK (>100 pulls). Should be in the 1000whp range shortly so let's see what blows up.

I do think we should dial down the torque onset and not exceed current levels.

How does one dial down tq without affecting Hp? AFE and timing?

Thats how our rods go sideways, axles and clutches are easy, even drop in gears... But if you don't do the rods and that power comes on too quick.. Bye felicia.

Still wondering about your gears, although stock lambo gears work with UGR cars up-to 1300whp so who knows they might be fine for a good long while.

It's MBT and how early it occurs... its better at high RPMs.. but 900wtq at 3.5K can be an issue!

guys nobody knows when and how these motors will let go, we have less than 6 cars in the country that we know about over 900whp or even 850. So we need way more data to know whats safe. For all we know these cars have bent rods now but run ok. lots of perfectly running gtr's had bent rods that were discovered when then motors were being built. These cars were all time bombs

As far as the axels I don't know what you guys expect, he had a damn near 90% power increase over stock and was on drag radials in a manual car and he races pretty much every weekend. I'm not sure how thats weak with our motor that has ridiculous torque.

They can try but they won't get paid. You say there is nothing modified about the drivetrain. That doesn't matter every part which suffers about more power because of tuning won't be paid bij the factory.
So breaking the engine, brakes, gearbox, the rest of the drivetrain etc, the dealer won't get paid.

But that's only if the diagnostic tools from the dealer reports the car is tuned. If the car has the right way of tuning the BMW(factory) can't see it and so you're lucky.
Or the dealer likes you some much as a good customer they pay it for you

Whatever happened to "You break it ! You pay for it ! " come on fellas, Man Up ! Granted I would understand if parts were defective or something of the sort. This is the continued regression of society, you have something or do something that is your fault and expect someone else to pay for it. Well guess what I'm probably going to pay for it and other forum members here as well probably down the road with continued price increases and other expenses no longer covered by warranties or something.

Very true, Im sure the dealers plug in the tools only when needed. In his case it was a axle so probably don't need to do that, engine, tranny, etc dont matter how good you are to the dealer.
Unless they plug in the tool to another car lol

i'm with you. i'm all for power increases, but 900hp on an m5 just isn't going to hold up. i'm OK with that. pay to play, as they say...

there is no way to know, we are all experimenting with different power levels and sustained miles at these power levels. as far as i know nobody has even opened a motor yet after it being used at these levels. Like i said before many gtr's running great with bent rods, so no tuner can claim that these extreme power levels are safe yet

Motors have been opened up - rods have bent and other fun things have happened already... just nobody talks about it.

I personally know of 3 blown engines...

It's interesting.. You know 3 blown engine and I know handful broken axle and transmission posted in this forum by members...The most strange thing is when anybody talks about the limit of tuning and how the over tuning (like 30-40% over stock) may increase the possibility of damage, others (most likely tuners or members who has already tuned their car) will talk about the high limit of all components of this car while as you mentioned nobody talks about blown engines, broken axles, transmission and differential... the link of a thread that I posted in post#3 of this thread is just one of them... Don't get me wrong, it's their money and their choice and they can do whatever they want to make themselves happy, but hiding the reality to push the others to go their way (and of course make somebody else more rich) is not fair and ethical... well...IMO
