Slowing down noise

Hi guys,

I'm experiencing a noise/vibration in my car, and I wondered if it is normal/others are experiencing the same thing.

I have a 2013 (2014 model year/i.e. facelift) BMW M5 F10 (no CP, no drivetrain or exhaust mods at all).

This noise occurs as I'm slowing down from a relatively high speed. At first when I release off the throttle, it sounds like its a jet engine thats just been turned off (the pitch starts off as a high, sharp noise and slowly decreases into a low rumbly noise as I get slower and slower), but then as I get much slower (to say less than 20mph) the noise gets very deep and I can feel the vibration of it through my steering wheel.

Has anyone experienced this?

I had a similar noise the other day braking from high speed - but no rumbling and it stopped when I was nearer the NSL - I assumed it was tyre/brake noise caused by deceleration, as it was the first & last time I had braked relatively hard at this speed.

I am no mechanic, but with a rumbling at lower speed, sounds like yours could be a vibration from the discs

Your tires are probably gone or brakes/rotors

Thanks for your help guys, I appreciate it

My tyres are only 3 months old, and my brakes were checked recently when it went for a brake fluid service (because the 'miles to go' reading on my idrive turned out to be incorrect for my pads).

Either way, the noise never happens from braking; The noise starts as I lift off the throttle.

Also, I have deactivated my ASD module so the sound definitely isn't coming from that.
