I believe both the headlights and taillights can be retrofitted (they seem to take on the same outer shape and there are no front bumper revisions).

I also believe the new suspension and stiffer sway bars can be retrofitted as well. I am unsure about the new r&p steering.. only time will tell if that is something that could be installed onto the prior M5's. Anyone else have input on this?

Where do I mail the check to retrofit all these goodies? Great updates to an already fantastic car.

Is it me or do the Tail Lights look exactly the same as the Pre-LCI Tail Lights?

I also agree, wheels don't look good to me. Maybe will need to see them in person to like them more. I also saw the M6 Gran Coupe in real life today for the first time. I got to sit in it and play with it too. I really like the wheels on the M6 Gran Coupe, they did a good job designing them, but I still like the 343 20" wheels better. Just how I feel.

I'm also not detecting a difference in ride height with the supposed competition suspension. Maybe it's just my eye, although I do have 20/15 vision.

All, in all, I'm really not impressed. the headlights look ok to me, nothing game changing, just subtle changes. Not feeling the new double slatted front kidney grills either. I think those should stay on the M6 too keep it more exclusive to that car. M6 steering wheel is nice, but all I really want from it are the paddle shifters.

I wish their were more pictures of the interior.

You can pick the heads and tails up from a BMW OEM Parts online supplier when they are made available (should be within the next 30 days or so).

However we do not yet know if they are p&p (plug and play). I have a feeling the tails are probably p&p and the heads may not be.. and might need some sort of adapter cabe or some type of similar modification.

I expect the M5 Competition suspension and sway bars to absolutely be p&p.. but there is aways a possibility they arent so only time will tell on all of this.

Also there needs to be someone that is knowledgable to attempt this and inform all of us what can be retrofitted and what cannot. Or someone just needs to purchase the parts and have a shop attempt to perform the install. I'll probably go the latter route as soon as the parts are made available. We'll get there and find out more soon enough.

Where's JMH at? I bet he'll be the first one to try and retrofit everything. LOL!

Look the same to me.

This new car is almost identical to the old one, unless you get the competition package with the ugly wheels.

Yeah and the Head Lights aren't even that crazy different. We were able to get a good idea on the new headlights from the LCI 7-Series and LCI X5///M.

The headlights are only different (LED with squared angel eye) for people who get the Executive Package. If you get the base car, then it comes with the original Xenon headlights with the round LED rings.

Headlights are Def an upgrade. Wheels are Butt, exhaust is still weak in appearance and the 15hp bump is probably the charcoal filters removed jk

The tail lights have changed. It's subtle, but definitely there. The upper part of the outer lights has changed, and the 3 lines inside now extend all the way up whereas on our cars now the top bar stops.

The inner lights have also changed.

Just like the steering wheel I hope to be first to retrofit these changes. I've already been gathering the data and details needed to make this swap using my good tech friends at the dealer and other sources. I have part numbers, etc. and am just waiting on availability once these go into production.

Of note: BMW actually sells a retrofit kit for LED headlights on the F12/F13. That's a possibility for us now to get a BMW package, rather than having to order parts piece by piece. Regardless, I plan on posting how to do all of this once I'm done.

Be warned, however, that these retrofits are not cheap.

Since you're in San Diego, I'd check out HG Motorsports for any installation or tuning. As always, I'm sure the vendors on the forums will be the first ones to have the OEM 2014 parts available.

In addition to what's been said about the lights, it seems that the reverse lights have moved positions and the reflectors are no longer in the taillights.

avlnch, sorry to change the subject, but do you have interior pics of your car?
I am kind of regretting not going the individual route. What was the extra cost of the ind interior if you dont mind? It looks stunning.

dood you where NOT the first with the wheel! LOL

and you WON'T be first with the lights either LOL

Whole light cluster I expect will cost around £1000 at least. The fronts will be a lot more I suspect something like £1000 per corner.

Cheers,
Neil
