2007 BMW 335i  [0.00]
I wrapped my downpipes and left the heat shield off....

After a couple runs I opened my hood and it was definitely hotter than normal under there... I bought a PTP lava blanket to replace it because my heatshield does not fit right and rubs on the 02 Sensors..

I figure if a thin piece of metal can stop heat, a thick piece of material made to withstand 2000+ deg will be even better.

Bad idea?
