Roof Rack ports popping up on their own

I swear I am not crazy. The covers for the ports where you would attach a roof rack are popping up on their own. Three times now I have found them standing up, the only thing I can come up with is maybe it is happening in the car wash. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Yes, had it happen a couple times to me as well. They seem to pop open if the wind is strong enough and it hits them the right way.

So if this just an F10 thing? Never had this happen on any other car or previous BMW....X6M...M6....etc..

I think they pop up too easily. I have people ask me what "are these things"
and I see them pointing/touching the (flipped up

) roof rack mounts.
Does not seem to happen as frequently with other models, F10 M5 issue only?

Happens every time during the car wash drying process for me. I'm surprised someone hasn't had one of these damn things ripped off by now.

So, seems fairly common....

Mine only happens to the ones on the right side so, does anyone NOT have this problem ever in car washes?

P.S.I have a rack (only installed once) for my OC1.... I never use the rack just incase.
