Hi Simon,

We have 2 M5's exhaust, 1 x6m and 1 m3 back box

Thats my friend's garage, we change exhausts for our friends and keep OEM's there, until car is sold, in case OEM needs to be back on the car for sale

OK mstmg,
That explains it. I would be tempted to open up the rear silencers, and cover the baffle holes up, in one of the exhaust, then, remove the resonators on the other, to see which sounds best. Im sure the owners wouldnt notice these slight mods, come refit time ,.

One of them is mine, so maybe i will experiment

We (owners) dont care about those exhausts, its just easier to sell car with oem exhaust, when time comes

I have the F13 M6 with the stock exhaust. I took the two resonators off in February and I have been happy with the sound results.

Not much louder during normal driving, but definitely cracks and pops when I am pushing hard on the throttle going through gear changes.

It's definitely a good option for only about $50 in labor.

When you take off the resonaters will they then be ruined. By that I mean is it simple to switch between resonated and non resonated?
If they can bolt in and out then I will do this in the next few days if not then I would presume you cannot buy these as individual components.

Hi jbomb,
No, its not a simple bolt on and off job. They need to be cut/sawn off, as they are part of the exhaust itself, so not just straight forward.

Oh definately j,
I would love to have a go at this, and if it was a bolt off, bolt on affair, i would do. But i certainly wont be hacking anything to bits. Just lately though, i find myself thinking, that the standard exhaust is plenty, when you are on the gas. It could just do with a little more V8 goodness at lower rpms. Would love an Eisenmann sport, or BMW performance exhaust, but im just too tight these days, and i dont think the standard exhaust is poor enough to justify the cost either.

any in car cruising videos of the resonator delete?

My turner muffler delete has tons of drone, maybe debating putting stock mufflers back and deleting the resonators

I can take some in the am. I have comp exhausts with res delete and I only get drone with valve manually open from 1100-1300 rpm and it's very low and not consistent. I just drove an1.5 hrs in traffic and heard it twice when at those rpms. One could call that no drone of they wanted.
