Well it's no surprise the M5 will get beat from a dead stop, but man even in a roll that AMG is fast, considering the M5 Jahre has 600HP, DCT, and is lighter.

The man running the races said the cars were in Sport mode for the rolling race. Who knows if he meant Sport+ for the M5, but when my M5 was stock there was considerable difference between Sport and Sport+ modes. I wish he had been more clear on the exact settings.

Yeah, but what was surprising was it wasn't a huge margin. 3.2 to 60 is crazy.

This is why as an F10 owner I can't wait to upgrade to the F90 M5. I don't care if it's the same engine, auto tranny, or that in two years there will be a better competition package model. I want the best performing M5 in 2018, and that will be the F90 M5, and that's why it will be in my garage.

Honestly - who cares? An AWD car is always going to win a drag race. I have an E63s and an F10 M5. The M5 is a hell of lot more fun to drive and a much better handler.

Well first of all the video obviously shows how bad this guy launched the M5 with that kind of wheel spinning and I'm sure M5 can run 1/4 mile sub 12 second and faster than RS5. Second, every car has it's purpose and you really can't compare M5 with RS5. Basically you have to compare RS5 with M4 and not M5. People who buy M5 are lookig fr somethings RS5 does not have such as luxurious and 2 of course 2 more doors .
Meanwhile in compare to S63 exactly the same thing. S63 is a luxury freeway cruiser and street car. Take it to racetrack or try to have some fun with this car and you can see the difference... evo last year had one video with S65 AMG Coupe which is more powerful and yet smaller and lighter than S63 sedan as below:

Finally apple to apple comparison you suould take a look at this video :

It's more reliable than the one is posted here...

That's a 2012 E63 AMG with 525hp, hardly an accurate comparison or a rival to the current gen M5

I haven't driven a current gen E63, but with the 4matic it does seem to be faster both from a stand still and from a roll. And it's not some bullshit overpriced "rare" edition, that BMW tries to push to it's clients.

I'm assuming you have a W212 since the 213's are not released yet. The W213 is getting good reviews in both handling, steering and chassis feel. We will have to see how that fares against the F90 but I think it will be a more formidable opponent in arenas it once was not so strong in.

As for this race from the OP- we all know the M5 is a wheel spin machine so its exactly as I thought. I was not shocked on the roll either since the new E63S is trapping in the mid 120's (from the tests). And to think, the tunes are almost ready whereas the M5 flash tune will be ready in 2019 LOL (F90)

The RS5 might have the M5 off the line, but on a highway pull the M5 dominates it. The E63 however, would be a much more formidable challenger.
