Dechromed!

Had the grills, gills and door handles wrapped today. Very happy! Really changes the look. Now just need to decide if clear or painted reflectors.

Is it cheaper to get them wrapped rather than buy complete new black grills and gills?

Much cheaper. Had it all done for $230 and it looks great. Replacing all including door handles was over $900 and I didn't want to do grills and gills and leave the door handle chrome. He also told me if I ever notice any problems peeling up on corners or anything just to let him know and he would take care of it.

Looks great. I just had my roof and rails wrapped today, as well as the handles. Just changed out the front grill and side markers as well. HATED THE CHROME.

I noticed that too after I took the pic, but no it's just dirty and the shadows in the garage make them look that way. I do like them in that shade. Thinking about having them plastidipped a dark grey probably similar to the insets of the wheel or maybe even black on just the face and leave the insets grey. I talked to them about that when I was there today as well.

Also there is a thread with a M6 GC on here somewhere with 601 in gloss black and I'm not sure about it.

Naively I didn't think to even consider wrapping the chrome surrounds and vents. Do you think it will peel and crack easily? Should you avoid jet washing the car or taking through a car wash?

According to the installer it should not be a problem. I don't drive through car washes anyway but from what I have researched on wraps I don't think there will be anything to worry about but Im if so I know they will redo it no charge. It's really no different than a full car wrap and I haven't heard of these problems with those. I will monitor and post on here if I have any problems. I look at it this way even if I had to pay to have it redone 3 more times it would still be the same cost as replacing everything.
