Quick question. Layman's terms. How does CPO work?

If one buys a CPO BMW, what are the requirements to keep the warranty/CPO designation?

BMW explained mine to me that it carries on just like the factory but no longer covers minor items like stitching in the seats pulling out or bs like that.

Yeah, like...if I buy a CPO am I forced to pay my local dealer $300 for an oil change or can I do it myself for $100 like I always have?

Just keep documentation showing that the maintenance was done on time as recommend.
