You aren't entirely off target. For instance I do think it is dumb to have 21" wheels because that dimishes the performance and drivability of the car. Since this is a performance car, that kind of move is stupid.

The exhaust modifications on the other hand are okay as long as they don't bastardize the look of the car. These mods don't diminish performance but may enhance it.

Suspension mods are another gray area. Some enhance performance, some dimish performance.

Nice comment. Especially for a guy that just became a member.

Dont tell me you dropped 10 large on an aftermarket exhaust.

Yes, I just became a member of this forum, but HAVE been on this forum for a couple of years. No reason to post up about a M5 when I didn't have one. I'm on other forums. If you had something of substance to say, I would applaud that, but in this case you did not because it just didn't make any sense. In one of your other post on a different forum you said something good and I did applaud that. I'm a pretty fair guy. I bet my car that 99% of the people here love to see what others do to mod their cars. Thats what car shows are for and why we all flock to them. You see, we are car crack addicts. Why do you think we bought the M5 and are on here. As far me dropping 10 large on an aftermarket exhaust...well, although I can afford it, I chose not to. I went with the RPI. Im not here to get into a pissing match with you or anyone else. I will add value to any post and for one I am happy for anyone who chooses to make mod their cars to the fullest. LET THE MOD FEST BEGIN!!

Hi guys, just got home and only driven 5 miles. The looks are PERFECT to me. I think I have the combo (for my taste) nailed. Perfect stance. Subtle, keeping the general proportions of the car but slightly more aggressive looking. I took a few pics with my phone I will up load after I get some food.............
The exhaust size too fits the above taste statement. In terms of sound, to be honest I dont know yet. I like it, not obnoxious outside (but need to hear more) and moderate increase in cabin sound but want to hear and drive more. It's going to rain here for the next few days so wont have real good pics until next week.
VERY HAPPY!

Hmmm. Interesting. What you are describing doesn't sound as bad as others have portrayed the Eisenmann race. Are you saying the car sounds great - and sounds like it ought to sound - or does it grab attention as being extra-ordinarily loud (though not annoying)

Defenitley not extra-ordinary loud. It would grab my attention because I would notice stuff like that (as would you, I'm sure). So yes, great would be the closest comment I can make right now. It is not as deep or beefy as the eisenmann race on my e39, but that is a Beast with headers, x pipe (and supercharger). It sounds more E60-like than AMG rumble. I know the die hard V-10'ers out there may like it.......

Here you can see the Eisenmann 90mm
H&R
12mm spacer in front
10mm in rear
Could go more but don't want to over do it. Will try get better pics.

Yes - that exhaust is the perfect size and it really is true to the M5 design DNA. It looks like what it should look like from the factory.

The stance looks very good. Your rear photo is the key one and you have taken it to close. You need to take it from further back and lower down so you can see where the tires disappear into the bodywork.

After you've driven it for a while, let us know about exhaust sound and whether you have any rubbing - especially on the front tires.

Thanks for the advice on the pics, thats an easy one and will try get some more pics tomorrow (after a car wash if not raining).
No rubbing, we tested it on a steep driveway where you could postition either front or rear wheels right up in the wheel well and turn the front wheel and have clearance. This is why I think this is nailed with these spacers. A more aggressive look may result in rubbing which I can't deal with.
I like the stock 20's so I should be good to go for a bit.

I know this is not an exhaust thread but couldn't wait to drive her this am. Cold start is loud'ish, proportionate to diff with cold start on OEM set up.
I love it! Car is perfect. Look forward to comparing sound live with Dave in SD with full RPI. Still very classy IMO.
