Well. There is not much you can do to the e39 to increase performance. Maybe some coilovers for better handling and a supercharger. Thats pretty much it.

Increasing 100-150 hp will be very expensive as headers alone cost a ton and and full exhausts will yield very little power. You might end up spending 6-8k for 100 whp.

What kind of project are you looking to do? Track car?

When it comes to the e39, i am a purist at heart. Maybe some springs and spacers to improve stance and better looking muffler tips+ xpipe for sound.

Thats it.

Project may have been the wrong word haha

Better off saying, I'd be interested in buying a decent mileage M5 (under 175mi) that is salvaged or could use some work. I could always resell it if I bought a bud, I could flip it, or I could ultimately keep it as my new baby.

Reason I'd like an e39 is because of the low price (just got the AMG, close to broke), iconic looks, & "M5". Even though I know the e46 M3 far better mechanically & interior wise..

This is my 4th e39 and second e39 m5. The first e39 m5 i did just that. Bring it back from the dead.

There are only about 8 in my entire country. And I had two.

I did this.

Fuck me mate, that's impressive! Can only imagine how much all that restoration cost you though.. can't imagine the car costing too much because of how aesthetically ugly it was originally though. How were the mechanical aspects of it?

To be honest i was so happy to finally get my hands on one that as long as it drove well i was going to get it. I did do a lot of mechanical replacements. Cps sensors, bushings, suspension mafs, and whole plethora of things. Before I sold it, i took it took the dyno and it yielded 336whp. Super happy about that.

Thanks. It was my dads back in the early 90's and I found it and we brought it back and restored it. Just the interior to sort now
