Coolant level top off?

Have any of you seen a low coolant level indicator pop up?

I just got one today. It wouldn't have been topped off for a good while... so it's probably nothing.

Any reason for concern?

Check for coolant line leaks by the turbo's. I got the same message and turned out to be that, Common issue.

I had the same problem come up when it was really hot here. I checked the tank and it was bone dry literally. I was in for a oil change and my shop and they topped off the coolant too on both sides.

I checked now 3 weeks later and it still looks its good.

I would have thought the system would warn you before the tank is bone dry...but apparently not.

They're 2 closed systems, right? Don't share an overflow? That didn't occur to me at the time.

The infotainment system hasn't posted the message again. By the sound of it, it was engine coolant.

Yes they are two closed systems, one tank you will see on the driver side and one on the passenger side. GL Bud!

You can't see into the engine coolant tank, so you really don't know where the level is if if drops below the bend in the filler neck. Good that there is a sensor in case you get caught unaware.

The turbo cooling system has NO sensor and no warning, so it can leak or pump out completely dry and you will never know. You HAVE to keep checking this one visually on a regular basis.
