My Keys gone

How much it cost to get a new one? And how long it takes?

It is about £200 for the new fob and £100 to unpair the old one if you care. Expect little cheaper across the pond.

If you need it ASAP, call BMW North America.

California residents needing assistance with a replacement key, please call 1-888-575-5397 at any time

If you want to do it the cheapest, contact BMW of Fairfax (VA) online parts https://bmwoffairfaxparts.com/

They've been the cheapest for me when I had to get a 2nd key. You'll need to scan them an ID and registration information that matches the car.

Hard to say with pricing. These are next generation keys, I've only had to do it for E-series chassis cars so far. Comfort Access features also adds significant costs.

I've heard that keys cannot be made at dealerships... they need to come coded from factory.

I heard $500... but who knows, was a salesman talking lol

For an F06 M6 with comfort access it was around $340 for the FOB and another $75 for the laser cut key. Total after tax was ~$450.

all correct, though prices vary for programming from dealership to dealership for Comfort Access keys.

Wow nice! Did you have comfort access with it?
I forgot to mention mine has CA, so I'm not sure how much that would make a difference.

I just did this with my dealership. They needed my registration information and $417 to order the key. It came the next day.

I paid like 198 or so with discount for mine but I had the laser cut portion from my old key.

comfort access features adds costs. So $250 or so for a standard key sounds about right. All in with CA will be closer to $400 IIRC.
