Steering feel getting better ?

Strangely, after I had my clunking suspension fixed (they did some work on the front suspension as part of the same fix) my steering seems to have a little more feel. I can really feel where the front wheels are pointing how whereas before it felt a touch vague.

It is kind of strange I know and doesn't really make any sense, but it definitely feels better.

Has anyone else who has had the suspension fix noticed this ?

My car is with the service dept now, but they are claiming (again) that they cannot hear the clunk, and that the SIB they have is not relevant for my build date :bs:

Any info I can use to help them help me?

Find a new service dept. You shouldn't have to appeal to the forums for info to arm yourself against the dealer. They should be bending over backwards to help you.

You can always call BMW NA and confirm whether the SIB applies to your vehicle and have them sort it out. If it does apply, then they will call your service deparment manager and let them know. BMW NA will always have the last say on these matters. But please, do not go back to the same service department again......

Maybe? I have to believe there's a dealership out your way who has good customer service.

My experiences at the (new) BMW of Rockville, as well as BMW of Silver Spring (Tischer) and Passport BMW, have all been very good -- they really seem committed to quality service and I haven't had any issues even with my (lightly - exhaust, springs, tune) modded M5.

Lack of steering feel and an overly 'heavy' input for the steering even in Comfort mode is my main complaint about the F10 M5.

For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet / Aftersales Portal / Service / Workshop Technology / Vehicle Programming.

Note: When the ISTA system message displays: Battery voltage only “XX.XX” V. Please connect the charger. Please note the displayed battery voltage reading in the repair order comments section.

warranty information

Cheers !!

The LCI appears to resolve this to some extent. Sadly, it's a combo of both software and hardware changes, so likely not a retrofit for us.

This is for xDrive cars - it implies the knocking noise at low speeds on front wheels is called by the AWD differential programming. Has nothing to do with the M5.
