How to improve on the track?

I finally got to take my 2013 M5 with manual transmission to the track. I would like your input on how to improve knowing that this was my first ever track day “advanced level on the sim”.

The car is a beast in a straight line but in the corners, not so much. I ran the whole day with traction control on. The traction light was coming on a lot (even in a straight line!). I was not abusing the gas pedal and was smooth in my inputs as much as possible. Corner exit was always hampered by the traction control. Corner entry and mid corner performance was great in sport plus suspension setting. Car is very level and able to hide its weight pretty well. I got so sketched by the traction control that I didn’t dare turning it off.

The other issue was tire pressures. Pressures were 40 after one of the sessions. I had to deflate them a bit (started session with 35). Felt 40 was too loose. Keeping it around 35 was be t for me.

Im running a stage 2 BM3 with cattless downpipes and PS4S 305 tires in the rear. Tires are a couple of months old so pretty new.

What’s your experience with traction control and tire pressures on the track? Is it better to go back to stock tune on track days?
