Carved out of Steel: Stealth.Pilot's 2014 Frozen Grey M5 Individual

I took delivery of my latest M5 yesterday (which means I now own 2 M5s on different continents!)

The 2014 car feels mostly the same as the 2013 which means it's fantastic. The car gives you a sense of total superiority on the autobahn, and also in the mountains. I drove mostly narrow windy country roads today and it was absolutely amazing. This car is perfection embodied!

The slight tweaks to the steering are also excellent - while subtle, you do feel a little more connected with the 2014 model. It may also be to do with the smaller diameter M6 steering wheel that the 2014s have.

I love the bright LED headlights. And the freakin sound of the machine (makes me wonder whether my $6000 Eisenmann exhaust was worth the cost! - I'll have to reassess that when I get back.

Most of all I love Frozen Grey. To me this color, more than Pure Metal Silver, leaves the impression that the car is chisled from a solid block of steel. It's like a modern art sculpture. Definitely my new favorite BMW color for the F10.

Specs:
The full specification is:
Frozen Grey Individual
Silverstone Full Merino Leather
Piano Black Individual Trim
Executive Package
Drivers Assistance + Package
343M 20" wheels
LED Lighting Package
Bang and Olufsen[/QUOTE]

Will post more pics tomorrow.

After day 1, I checked into the hotel and went downstairs, where I was able to intercept 2 beautiful German women and join them for a fun dinner conversation and dessert.

The next day I awoke to this beautiful view from my balcony at the Grand Hotel in Kitzbuhel:

Then I pulled the car up front to load my luggage and cameras.

Then I began a drive across Tirol on the B171 all the way to Arlberg Pass. I seemed to stop at many churches to confess my speeding on the B roads.

Then I came across the Arlberg Pass. The receptionist had called several people to check the roads were clear before sending me to drive the pass on summer tires.

Then I arrived at the Liechtenstein border, where I was unnecessarily delayed while the border guards inspected my paintwork, I mean passport.

I took the opportunity to snap a Cocaine White interior pic for those that requested it.

Then I arrived at Vaduz castle in Liechtenstein.

Day 3:

I woke up to this view from the Sheraton Panoramahaus in Dornbirn. Beds were too hard, but fortunately the BMW M adrenalin kept me going today.

Then thanks to @JMH I went for a drive on the Deutsche Alpenstrasse. Some amazing winding roads, switchbacks, idyllic villages and hamlets, and scenery. Highly recommended.

Then I stopped by Ottobeuren Abbey thanks to advise from @trinitony I also got a fantastic parking space outside.

Next I stopped by Alpina in Buchloe, and also had lunch in Buchloe at a guest house.

Finally, and I will have another thread on this, I stopped by BMW M Gmbh HQ and BMW M Studio for a private tour.

Wow Stealth!!!

First of all, WELCOME BACK! We missed you!

Second of all, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! Your M5 DOES look like it's been carved from steel! Those LED Headlights with the Frozen Paint almost make me want to run down to the closest dealership right now!!!

So are you keeping your other Monte Carlo Blue M5 then too?!

Also I'd like to hear your reasoning for not getting the Competition Package. I just would like to know if I ever consider getting an LCI M5 or M6 that I'm making the right decision on not getting it. Thanks!

I was definitely not a frozen fan............until now.

Stealth, too bad you couldn't have had the factory add some radar absorbing ingredients to the paint for an additional countermeasure....btw welcome back!

That is a stunning colour combo (definitely one of the best frozen colours) & unlikely to see many around. Light colours tend to show the F10 lines very well & frozen seems to amplify that effect.

Does anyone have Pure Metal Silver on order? Would love to see 'real' pictures of F10 M5 in that colour.

Only way you're going to know for sure about CP is to have an extensive test drive (at the risk of placing an order ) - I'd hazard a guess you'll be in the CP camp, however, would be interesting how the CP sports exhaust compares to your RPi catless (assuming no where near as loud).

No it didn't record for some reason. Probably remote was out of sync.

Fantastic color choice you have here including the interior; very nicely done and one of a kind thats for sure thus far. It almost looks like its a black and white/greyscale car in a colorful world.

making me rethink my m4 vert color choice, thats for sure
