Huge car like that with tiny calipers/pads again?

Just sad.

I don't know the man, and I'm sure he's an upstanding person. That said, under his watch the M Division has taken a nose dive with its embrace of turbos, slapping the ///M badge on trucks, and resorting to the parts bin for car and engine development. The damage to the brand is done, but at least change is coming. Let's just hope it's change for the better.

Also, give the man his due credit. It's Dr. Siegler.

The E60 just seemed like BMW did a the right moves to differentiate the base 5 seris from the M... this however just looks like others have said a 5 seris M sport, which does look amazing on the road might i add.. but still, this car should have a little bit more flair to it (mirrors, decklid, hood) to offset it from its younger siblings..

.... really? You are blaming Dr. Segler for the brakes now? You hit the nail on the head, because Dr. Segler was the man responsible for the design and the engineering of the brakes

Please fill us in on how you know the brakes aren't properly setup for this car, because you of course must have driven the car to make that statement....

No it was the Concept Car. All the mess you see in the background?
All gone. The hired staff worked through the night. Floors were cleaned and polished before the cars were moved into position.

With a great team you can accomplish anything.

If you think about it the E60 was the exception. The M5 has always had an understated look. Now it's just going back to that.
THANK YOU! Somebody finally gets it...the E60 was such a departure in tstyle that the E60 M5 would have looked aggressive no matter what. All 5 series prior to the E60 had toned downed "German" styling, which meant that the M5 variant would be like adding a little dash of color to a black business suit...not like the zoot suit E60 M5

I am keen on that colour, it may be "specific to the M5".

i asked you a question earlier. Anyhow, what we see is what we are going to get in the production car? or are we going to see some changes some as different hood with a power dome, and different rear brakes?

I am in China currently so the Time difference is playing havoc on my responses.
I answered this question before either here or on my Blog.

But the M5 Concept is delibierately like this to show a kinship with the original E60 M5 Concept from 2004. There are elements that are unfinished on the Concept but never go above the understated appearance you would expect from an M5. An M5 never becomes a parody of itself in regards to "over visualisation" The powerdome is not needed because the sculpted bonnet is suffice especially in aerodynamic terms.

We have not released any figures or specifcation nor intend to until June 21 with the arrival of the production car , but there will be ongoing campaigns with M-Power.com along the road to it's World Premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt this September.

Well, from what I've read, turbos were gonna be in the cards whether it was Dr. S at helm or not...and the writing was on the wall with the X5 LM...the daddy of the X5 M/X6 M, plus BMW wanted a piece of the Cayenne Turbo, Mercedes ML63 AMG pie...I see nothing wrong with that...considering that the X5 M/X6 M have better Ring times than the E46 M3 and better 0-60 times...
