21 inch tire set up

Just wondering what is the ideal size for running 21 inch tires.

Would it be 265/30/21 and 295/35/21 or 305/25/21

Would 245 or 255/30/35/21 work and 285/30/21 work for the car or be too big?

Thanks for thoughts. Is the 25 series just too risky?

I run 265 and 305 with 25 profile. Not too risky unless your roads are full of potholes. In SoCal not too bad but I am very vigilant of poor road conditions.

I just purchased the Velos Solo V 21" and am fitting them with mich pilot super sports 305 25 rear and 265 30 front. I'm also doing sport H & R springs. Waiting for them to arrive. Btw the wheels are identical to the HRE P104 and uses the same 6061 T6 forged aluminum. I got them for 5k which includes shipping. I believe this is a good price compared to HRE no? Anyway best of luck with the new wheels. Post some pics.....

Garage List
2013 BMW M5  [0.00]
HRE P101 21x9.5 Front = 20.8Lbs
343M 20x9 = (11.2kg) or 24.7Lbs
21's are 3.9Lbs lighter

HRE P101 21x11 Rear = 23.0Lbs
343M 20x10 = (11.6kg) or 25.6Lbs
21's are 2.6Lbs lighter

21's dont have the 275 option in the front like the 20s do. So went with 265 and 305 rear.

I was wondering the same thing. They are exact to the HRE's. Even the description is almost identical.

245/35/21 or 255/30/21 with 285/30/21 isnt' recommended for a 21 inch set up?

any opinions on this.

Seems to be 255/30/21 and 295/25/21 the right options as I'm trying to find some tires that will match this set up.

The wheels are just for cruising around town in and such it isn't for any performance gains.

I'm guessing you're on a F10 M5?

If you are, why would you wanna decrease your contact patch from OEM specs?

Just go with 265/30 front and 295/25 or 305/25 rear.

Old post that I am resurrecting:

I'm looking into replacing my old 265/30 21 tires, but this size is backordered.

Would a 265/35 21 size work? According to a tire calculator I used, this give me an increase of 0.5" radius from the center, to the outer tire surface, if this is even true

Way too tall. I'd go for 255/30 or 275/30 (if those even exist in 21").

Get the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti R. Should be readily available in 265/30 and 305/25.
