I haven't dynod yet but haven't noticed any loss of power. Plan to dyno in January if I can get it on schedule with the shops

Just to say that this resonated X - pipe has changed this exhaust system and it sounds amazing. I doubt there is any power loss but 13M5F10 and I plan to Dyno our cars soon as besides our exhaust systems, have the same modifications and tune.

Cool. Be sure to post the dyno runs on here. I am installing an RPI section 3 this weekend and if you can prove that there isn't a loss in performance I'll be sure to follow suit and make my own x-pipe. I've heard conflicting things with regard to back pressure and etc.

Will do - Just to be clear, this is a resonated X pipe and not just an X pipe. I believe its already been proven that the X Pipe on the F10 M5 improves performance. There are several cat back systems for the F10 M5 that come with the X pipe

might be due to weather conditions but I had a 15-20 whp gain when I installed x-pipe removing the stock resonators. definitely helps the exhaust flow better.

Wondering what adding this resonated xpipe to a turner muffler delete w stock downpipes would sound like? Sounds like it may kill the drone. But those cold starts though ..

It would replace the stock resonator but will definitely change the sound. I am thinking it will take that top end raspiness and deepen the tone as well as kill the cabin noise completely. I have the downpipes and barely hear anything in the cabin. Even at WOT its very subtle. Outside is a different story

magnaflow X Pipe

I had a question for you in reference to your cabin noise that you got rid off. I just switched my exhaust to the x pipe with magnaflow literraly two day again and the sound is great but my cabin noise is out of control. what exactly did you do if you did it yourself to get rid of that noise and still keep the outside right...

What's your exhaust setup?

Mine was catless downpipes, resonated x pipe, muffler delete

what a life saver this thread has been, i had the rasping too and it sounded just awful, ive got dp's and rear muffler delete, and now had the resonators deleted but decided instead to get a hand made (extended) x-pipe made by a specialist with no baffles. This new set up has completely changed the sound of the exhaust, and i mean completely... sounds more like a screaming italian car now, pop's and bangs are deafening, and truely sounds like it only belongs at a race circuit, but most importantly NO RASPING

i plan to keep like this for a while - then get a couple of modest inline baffles just so the neibours talk to me again.

if i had a good camera / mic i'd do a video, but on iphone it just distorts

It's a 550 I think and not an M5. Not sure the ASD is a feature on that car

OP you are definitely a life saver, I had muffler delete with HFC 200 cel and it sounded like crap, way raspy and horrible drone. After welding in this magnaflow piece car sounds perfect, zero drone. Only peeve now is I think if you have HFC's getting a non resonated x pipe might be a good idea for those who want the exhaust a bit louder. Tone is perfect and under full or heavy acceleration it sounds very similar to RPI with down pipes but without drone.

Awesome! Glad it worked out and helped. I got this idea when I added headers to my ZL1 and it sounded like a nascar car. After going this route it sounded amazing and drone was minimized significantly.

Hi Thunder43, did you end up trying this by any chance? Thinking of doing a custom muffler delete plus resonated xpipe (stock DPs).

Soo in ref to the OP (just to clarify) it looks like you keep the stock x-pipe and add ANOTHER Magnaflow resonated x-pipe after that which replaces the oem resonators???

As someone else said, will a 3inch in/out dual resonated X-pipe work in this space just the same? I'm thinking it will allow for a smoother flow with even less resistance.... if I can find one.

I find it shocking that performance doesn't decrease when going from 3" > 2.5" > 3" again. I would think the bottleneck would definitely hurt performance.

Also, would it get the same results if we would just leave the oem resonators in place and put this resonated xpipe in place of the pinched oem one? Kill 2 birds with 1 stone? Further quiet down the exhaust drone and rasp and improve power? Thoughts???

I'm trying to find the easiest solution for my setup to quiet it down, aside from full throttle and get rid of the drone.

what if im catless DP but keeping the stock mufflers, should i remove my resonators to increase the noise outside ?
would it be too loud in cabin?

Reviving this older thread...has anybody tried this Magnaflow resonator in the meantime with a muffler delete/catted DP set up? If it works nicely to eliminate drone it could be a cheap way to modify the exhaust (few hundred bucks to straight pipe from the axle back and $200 more for the resonator and install labor).
