It's definitely not psychological, too many people with the same issues and same results. I know I was so upset when I first installed my Turner and thought "is this what it's gonna feel like" until I searched the forums and found about about the hoses.

Whether there is a performance issue or not, we all agree block the lines off.

There is no any other way debating this. I personally had this low boost issue for the longest time. Recently sealed the hoses and boost is all back.

Confirmed. Not plugging these lines results in power loss.

Wired-open valves on stock exhaust?

Noob question - if I open the second valve in the exhause and tie it off with wire so it stays open, does that do anything funny to the valves? Disconnect them and plug them? Leave them alone?

Also... someone posited that the valve served to help with developing low-end torque in the engine, but I can't find the thread. Any downside to just opening the things up and calling it a day?

Thanks!

I used a hose plug which is the proper way to do it and just because I don't trust myself sometimes I added a hose clamp. This one is with a twist handle so I just twist to tighten rather than use a screw driver. Just preference. I believe stock hose is 5/16 so just buy a matching hose plug that fits a 5/16 hose. You can buy a kit with various sizes for just as cheap as a pair.

Everything you can buy from an auto store and it's less than $5.

Not plugging these will result in loss of power.
Is there one vacuum line on each side? I've only been able to find one. My Indy mechanic said he put a bolt in the lines when installing my aftermarket exhaust, but I just wanted to confirm. Thanks

The control valve has just one vacuum line from the engine coming in, and the line coming out and going to the muffler valves has a T to split it for both mufflers.

There should be no mystery about running problems whenever you have an air leak, and that's what you have if you don't plug those lines if you take them off. Unmetered air not measured by the MAF going into the engine is going to cause driveability issues. Just start your car, and take off the oil filler cap and you'll see what I mean.

No doubt that not having these connected or plugged will cause a severe power loss, especially when tuned.

Bring up an old thread. I just got my car dynoed and the numbers were really bad. I had got a muffler delete but I don't think the shop closed the vacuum line. I just jacked up the car to try to find the lines but I can't seem to find them.

Do I need to remove the rear bumper for find them?

Thanks

If you did a delete, most like the valves went with it. It's part of the mufflers

How does the car feel to you? Any way to log it and send the files to the tuner?

I never put my car on the dyno. Half the shops don't know how to dyno these cars. No offense to anyone here.

I put my hellcat on a dyno and numbers showed 470w on a 707hp motor lol. I laughed.

Sorry I meant to say the vacuum line. I can't find it to plug it. Yeah I got it dynoed and I was expecting 600 and got really low numbers. Showed the graph to my tuner and first thing was the vacuum lines

I just got under the car and I can't seem to find them. I'm curious if I have to take the bumper off

Sorry to thread jack. My car is going for dyno on Tuesday. What's the correct process for dynoing these cars?

Nice! Defiantly would create the problem and loss of boost.

Do we still need to plug this even if it's connected to the AKRAPOVIC exhaust vacuum lines?

Or is this only needed if there is a muffler delete?

For example I have the valves forced open by the wire method. I'm wondering if this still needs to be plugged still?

If it's already plugged into the other system, no need to plug it.
