As air flow is a function of demand (torque) I can't see how this would be the root cause, must be something else going on or a different reason why thset up is causing problems, i.e placement of MAF sensors, cross sectional area changed so the math does't add up in the DME tables etc.

I received the new intake lids today and after installing them and taking the car for test drive, the LTFTs were ~ -23 and ~ -12 for bank 2 and bank 1, respectively, at idle. With the filters installed they were -25 (sensor max) and ~ -20.
When the car cooled off, I put the stock mufflers back on with no change in the fuel trim but there is always a 10 -12 % difference between banks at all revs so I will take it in and have the dealer find out why there is such a large discrepancy between banks. When I get the car back I will park it as is for the winter and probably swap the tail pipes but leave the stock intake in place, unless the dealer find something else. |

Hi OP. Picked up a lease return M6. New to the forum and a little behind on the replies. BTW, great post! From reading many reviews and forums, I decided to try out this combo with a twist. I ordered the ramair on eBay with BMS intake to avoid the MAF failure. Nightmare on a previous M3 with oil collecting on the MAF. Maybe it was the users fault, but ramair seems to be a great alternative. I would like to add the scoop you posted if you are still open to sending. I can pay via paypal. Worst cast, it won't cost $2500 for trial and error. Thanks!

Anyone tried this with 90mm & 175mm filter. Stock inlet pipework is 3.25" possibly making the 90mm filter neck more suitable than 80mm??
