Anti-dazzle high-beam assistant.

Anti-dazzle high-beam assistant.

Anti-dazzle high-beam assistant.

Is this feature available on 2014 M5 North American version with Adaptive LED lights or this is one of hidden feature that needs to be coded?

Any info will be very helpful?

Thanks

This is a very cool feature and perhaps the number one reason to code your car. But don't expect it to be noticable on a regular basis unless you are driving rural roads. It is really only very noticable when you are on the road with only one other car - either in front of you or coming toward you. However, when you pull up on the one car on a nice dark road and you can actually see the high beams spread out to form a V around him, it is perhaps one of the coolest (non-speed/handling) things you will experience in this car.

Mine is quite active, even in the city. The high beam, especially on the passengers side, remains active while the driver's side one is off. One thing, V12 lowered the speed at which it is activated - to 30 maybe? Not sure if that plays a role in explaining things.

Agee, this feature is awesome.

BUT V12 can code it so it is activated by default - versus having to toggle the switch on the stalk....

I have a Canadian-based 2014 and my Adaptive LED lights are decoded (not working other than Auto High Beam - on/off). When I asked my sales rep about this upon buying the car, he said that all of North America is treated the same (decoded). That may or may not be true, but I know that function does not work on mine.

That's correct, on US spec vehicles the anti-dazzle is decoded. It shows up on your build sheet.

I am not sure if the same is true with Canada. They have some odd features that US doesn't. Ask V12.

+1 for me. this is one of the more important features that brought me to the M3. it's also advertised on BMW.CA:

You should research this more because USA cars and probably NA cars in general don't just have anti-dazzle decoded, but the headlight hardware itself is different and lacks the ability to shape the high beam pattern. Almareto has posted about this on other forums. You can code it, but it doesn't really work as intended an it does dazzle the oncoming drivers.
