Drivetrain Malfunction
So I've had a couple of the dreaded drivetrain malfunction messages and fault codes over a two day period. Dealership found that my high pressure fuel sensor on Bank 2 was bad. Fault Code message read: Short to Neg on Bank 2 Fuel rail Pressure Sensor. Car is running like a champ now...pulls much harder.
Also had an issue with my CBS counter (Condition Base Service) showing my rear brake pads due change before my front pads were due. Basically my front pads are showing due in 11000 miles (which is correct) while the rears were showing due in 1200 miles...I have 26000 miles on the ODO. Dealer found that this is an known issue and the fix was to update the car with the latest programming. BTW that ISTA/P Integration level for my car (build date July 2012 {2013 M5 non-CP} is F010-14-07-504) Note: I started with Integration level (Plant): F010-12-531 // Integration level (old): F010-13-506 // and the latest mentioned above. All is well now. |

Actually if you always drive your car in MDM mode, it is very possible for the rear brakes to go out before the front brakes. The MDM mode constantly brakes one of the rear wheel to control how much the back steps out, therefore if you drive aggressively with MDM mode, chances are your rear pads will go out before your front pads.
