Carbon Fiber for ED

Considering doing carbon fiber interior trim on an ED M5. Anyone know if you can get it from factory on an ED car (as opposed to having it as US port install) and if so can it be specified to only be placed on dash/doors but not on center console?

What's the option code for factory installed carbon fiber trim? I was told no more port accessories can be installed for ED.

The ///M Performance CF trim is not available as a factory option
You either have to install it once the car is back in the US or if you can't wait have it installed
at the local dealership (will be more expensive and you have to take care shipping the old
trim back)

I was told by two different CA's that this was NOT possible. And both these CA's have been doing ED's for a long time and know the right channels to run these questions through.

I am ordering Carbon Fiber for my ED, and so far I have not heard anything back from the CA saying it cannot be done. Here is a pic of the trim on a sticker for a car that was for-sale last month. The factory option code is 4MC for the Carbon Fiber trim and it is $3025 for it. If I hear anything different I will give an update.

FYI, you can get it for about 2500s if you buy it after. Then maybe you can get some money back on the stock aluminum trims (500-800?). Just a thought.

Cool! I tried ordering mine with the black grilles. At first it went through, but then later they said it couldn't be done.
Something to keep in mind about the window sticker... When is that applied? If it's applied by the dealer, after the VPC, then the fact the trim is listed on the sticker doesn't prove it can be had when you pick up at the Welt.

My CA just emailed me and said the Carbon Fiber trim is now a standard trim. He is waiting for BMWNA to approve my build and will email me when he gets the green light.Fingers crossed.....

I have a ED order for delivery end of August. My CA has told me that BMWNA doesn't have the option 4MC as a factory option. I just checked again and got a response from my CA and/or BMWNA as this is not availble.

Do you have an ordering guide or notes from BMWNA that show Carbon Fiber interior trim is a standard no cost option?

These monroney sticker can be reprinted at the port, especially if you have port installed options. Doesn't prove you can order this from the factory.

No I do not have ordering guide or notes that show this. I am only going off what my CA said about my order. He is contacting the ED department so I can get a production and pick up date.

4MC is the option code for the CF trim on the F8? M3/M4
Also if you specify any trim it will be on your build sheet , the dealer
can easily retrieve one from their system using your VIN/production number
It will have all the details of what has been spec'd / ordered .

Where were you able to input the VIN and get this information, or was this what your dealer gave you?

The dealer can easily pull it down from their system
You can also enter the last 7 digits of your VIN into the VIN decoder at
http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
The dealer will see the info sooner as it will take a little while to populate

I stand corrected. You cannot get the CF trim from the factory. My CA was confused and thought I wanted the M3. The 4MC is the carbon fiber Standard option on the M3/4/6 cars not the M5. He is currently looking to see how the option can be added. When I travel to Germany next month if I don't know by then I will ask them when I visit the Welt.
