Must be race day and I didn't get the memo?

Had my M5 since November and never had this happen....had a e90 335 trying to mess around with me on the way to work this morning and a E63 M6 on the way home .....both in pretty heavy traffic. What is wrong with people? In 4 months nothing then twice in 1 day? Reminds me of the time in my 13 msport 550 I had a hemi charger power brake and do a burnout twice at a red light (once behind me and once beside) also in heavy traffic ....just shake my head sometimes

edit: but to add to OP. I do find that I'm challenged way too often in heavy traffic situations that I am not comfortable playing in.

Just not worth it.

At least you get some decent challenges. I got Hyundai hybrid, god knows what model that is, reving his engine (I don't know if it was real engine sound or fake though) next to me for 2 traffic light stops until I finally made a right turn on the 3rd. My passenger was like wtf did he want!?! It was 4pm with heavy traffic.

All the time. Never by any real challengers either. Usually the usual rice rockets and 335 drivers . Only once i had a cls63 amg try to run me and he definitely got walked.

So let's add to this ...what is the strangest car you have had try to get you to run as well?

Best challenge I ever had was from a fully modded supra turbo; unfortunately I had my wife with me who was not into the situation. It was on for about 5s, then she lost what little nerve she began with and it was over before it began.

This supra was likely a 9s car, so it's probably just as well, but I'd have liked a full shot at him.

My best friend (rich parents) had a 94 supra turbo stock in 94 (a 93 rx7 turbo before that and a 91 300zx turbo before that his first cars starting at age 16) I remember how crazy fast those cars seemed then and to think the M5 is faster now is mindblowing...but still remember that feeling

Would have like to know the out come though

Not that it really matters as I am never (as in n-e-v-e-r) being challenged here in central NJ, adding on with another question: What really are the cars (stock condition) that can outrun the F10 stock ///M5?

P.S.: When I am really bored and neither wife nor kids are on board and little traffic, I usually try to hone my launch control skills. This is so much the boonies that if I were ever challenged by, say, a GTR or a Shelby or something (again, non-existent in this area) I would probably be so excited that I would completely mess up.

Audi's. Don't know what it is. 4 of them in a row. 2 S5's and 2 A4's. Mostly just to see how fast the M5 would go when I really laid into it.

GT-R a week or so ago. That was a hoot, and as long as you get a rolling start, the M5 will stay right with it! Surprised us both actually (and I have to say it's a terrific feeling when you realize "holy crap I'm keeping up with a GT-R!" )

I get 135/335is that tail me, and the occasional Mustang or Camaro that drives next to me 2 gears lower than they should. I raced a ZL1 heads up and smoked it using LC. But most recently I got smoked by a 991 Turbo.

You should not be keeping up with GTR, you should be flying away from GTR, if u do rolling 50+ in correct gear in sport+ throttle response and D3/S3

Had a guy in a G35 trying to mess with me yesterday in Hollywood. I'm like "are you serious?", in traffic, and can't even drive worth crap, on those scrapped 20s'.

It wasn't in an M5, but I was driving my father's R8 V10 about a year ago (FYI...I'm 40. Didn't want you to think I was a teenager driving daddy's car). We had switched cars for the day, because he didn't want to leave his car at the airport for a business trip.

Anyway, on my way home from work, in what had to be a mid-80s Honda Civic with straight pipes on it, a guy pulls up next to me on the highway and is really trying to get me to run with him.

My 5th grade daughter was with me, so I didn't want to set a bad example. However, I finally gave it a very short burst of speed to show him that it was ridiculous to attempt to race me.

The guy looked hilarious.

In high school, my brother and I got smoked by a minivan. Never saw it coming and my brother was the one that initiated. We were in a VW rabbit. He's never lived it down.

Laces out......laces out.

I've several situations like this...i think in most of the cases they are eager to see what the M5 will do. Naturally when the conditions are correct i fully oblige.

Exactly, I had a father and son pull up next to me in a F10 550xi. Im sure the dad knew what my car was and they disappeared behind me.
