SSP seems to be the most experienced with the Getrag DCT clutch on this forum. You have chosen to repeatedly question their advice, and specifically their claim that the picture you show is not correct. I would suggest you go directly to Getrag, show them the picture of the snap rings you have and ask them if it is the proper installation. Please let us know their answer.

Then it's even more important that you go to the manufacturer to find the correct answer. Please let us know what Getrag tells you.

If I may:::

Perhaps you or your tech are installing the clutch wrong or are performing the adaptation process wrong. There has to be an underlining issue there. I have the 900lb Ssp installed and never had a light come on during adaptation other than the ones that were supposed to. Ive followed your thread and saw where Kris offered his advice and you had discounted it many many times. If I can offer my advice to you to help solve it all. Why don't you guys just pack it up and send it to Kris so it can be installed correctly(not saying it's not). This way all you have to do is put the tranny back in and re follow his adaptation process. Good luck. We all have issues w our cars but asking advice to everyone on here who most likely don't know didly about how the inner clutch works won't get your car fixed. It will separate you from everyone. Hope it all works out for you. Kris helped me and for that I'm very grateful.

Your car has been down for nearly 3 months now. You could be driving it and enjoying your new clutch. I am not sure why you are so resilient on sending your clutch to me. Shipping time from Egypt to me is 3 business days, 1 day for me to set your clutch up, and 3 days back to you. The total cost of shipping would be roughly 170 USD each way. Knowing that I do not charge a fee to properly set your clutch up, this is a NO BRAINER. So for 340 USD you would have a car that is running in 1 weeks time. So now you have removed and reinstalled the transmission out 4 times, no successful adaptations, burned up the clutch, etc.. Knowing what you know now, I am still really confused on what you are doing....
So now you await for a second opinion from Getrag, that will probably never come. FYI, Getrag doesn't build this clutch assembly.

I have offered my help and reached out to you dozens of times.... I wish you the best moving forward with your vehicle.

Here is a brand new clutch I just opened up out of inventory for you to take a look at. I hope these pictures are the proof you need.....

Clearly you can see the 2.6mm thick outer snap ring.......

I think I can help you. We just had a customer pull a Spec-R out and upgraded to a Spec-X clutch. This clutch only had 700 miles on it and its is like new with zero wear to it. I would let you have this for 1/2 price if your are interested. But, please send your basket to me so that I can get you up and running finally.

Man, if only every vendor were like SSP: knowledgeable, helpful, and reasonable. I'd even settle for just two of those qualities in vendors
