Interesting read to say the least, but as expected the AMG comes out on top and has the AWD advantage. I like how the industry is tuning AWD systems to make them feel like RWD cars. AMG has really come a long way in chassis development/handling. I drove the last generation and definitely wouldn't have chosen it over the M5. I've been considering picking up a new sedan so I'm going to have to test drive both and decide for myself. M5 sounds like it may still be more of the drivers car, esp. if you enjoy getting the rear loose every once in a while. Regardless, they are both clearly amazing cars at the top of their class.

Yup. After the Panny and now the E63, AWD will catch on quick. I found it interesting to watch how quickly the head of BMW's M switch from "never, never, never an AWD M5" to "well, maybe for the next generation". I think it's now inevitable.

I wondered where these mountain road in Socal are located? I've seen motortrend crew always tested their car there, does anybody know??
