Opinion Needed for Mass Airflow Sensor

Hi,

I noticed my Mass Air Flow sensor has a light coating (sheen) of oil on it. Possibly from my K&N filter. Car is running ok and no check engine light or anything. Should I just pull it our and clean it with MAF cleaner or just swap it out for new ones. Thanks!

Mike

What do you see gaining by using a K&N filter over stock?

Not really anything much in terms of performance on monsters like the F10 M5. On normally aspirated cars like E46 M3s you'll feel better throttle responses. They tend to flow better when dirty vs stock filters. But let's stick with the MAF question and not start a K&N thread please
