BMW Extended Warranty with tune??

My Warranty runs out and of March and I am currently catless and tuned. other than that everything is stock. Anyone else with a tune car doing an extended warranty or am I just throwing money out the window since claim could be denied due to tune?

Claim cannot be denied because of a tune unless that is specifically written into your policy. In order for warranty company to deny your claim they would have to prove your "tune" caused the failure.

Now that tuners have OBD port tuning it should not be an issue.

Awesome. Looks like I'll be adding an extended warranty after all. Unless anyone else can chime in with a different opinion or experience.

I'm by no means the authority. I would definitely do your research with any warranty company you consider.

Dealer/warranty co can deny even legitimate claims; we've all been there and/or heard of bad experiences.

Although momos is right about proving the tune/mods causing the failure, I can see a dealer denying a claim and making you do the legwork.

A lot depends on how tight you are with your dealer/SA.

If you are going with 3rd party extended warranty, let us know who, as my warranty will end this July.

That brings up a good point of a good third party company as they are likely cheaper and more lenient from what I heard. I did some research over the summer for my E92 that was coming off warranty but sold it and since then I can't remember the companies. if anyone knows of any good ones and has had good experience, please chime in
